The brand "Controlado por FACE", was developed by the FACE - Federación de Asociaciones de Celíacos de España (owner of the standard), in cooperation with ACERTA.
FACE has a large experience in food safety; it is a pioneer in the dvelopment of food safety iniciatives concerning gluten free products, well recognized in Europe as well as in other continents. For conducting such task FACE has a high skilled team of professional people, qualified and committed to food safety.

The objective of the brand "Controlado por FACE" is to guarantee the coeliac consumers that products labeled with such mark comply with all the requirements in terms of maximum glutent content according to FACE criteria, that guarantees that verified products are safe for coeliac people.
The maximum content of gluten is:
- Controled by laboratories approved by FACE and accredited by ENAC, or any other accreditation body member of EA (European Cooperation for Acreditation), for gluten analysis against the standard ISO 17025.
- And certified by a Certification Body, approved by FACE and accredited by ENAC, or any other accreditation body member of EA (European Cooperation for Acreditation), for gluten analysis against the standard ISO 17065 to this scope.
The critical limit is 10 ppm (mg/kg) of gluten.
Who can use de mark?
The brand can be used by companies producing food products specific for coeliac people, as well as by companies producing conventional products that can be eaten by coeliac people as long as it is ensured that there is no gluten contamination on the products.
In addition, the brand also requires the monitoring of suppliers of risk materials, wich makes safer the initiative for coeliac people.
